Utah criticized for ignoring climate change in water planning
Most states have failed to plan for their water or flood-control needs in a world wracked by climate change, according to an environmental group’s new report, and Utah is right there with the worst.

Spring Runoff Conference April 3 - 4, 2012
The Spring Runoff Conference is held annually on the Campus of Utah State University hosted by the USU Water Initiative. It provides a forum for interdisciplinary sharing and exchange of ideas on water-related issues in Utah and the Intermountain Region extending to all aspects of water science, policy, engineering and management. Topic areas include hydrology, water resources, water policy, water and society, water quality, water use and conservation, economics, climate change, soils, groundwater, snow hydrology, ecosystems, limnology and water computation and information systems. Conference will be held April 3 - 4, 2012.

An interdisciplinary team of Utah and Wyoming researchers has received a $6 million, three-year award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to develop a better understanding of the interconnectivity of natural and human water resources systems – a critical environmental sustainability problem facing both Western states.
